A very disturbing case of animal cruelty in the Brookstown area of Baton Rouge landed four people in jail Thursday morning.

Tina Jackson, Althea London, Frederick Scott, and Walter Jackson have all been arrested and slapped with a number of charges, including dog fighting. The gruesome acts were caught on video.

The video shows two dogs viciously gnawing on a third, while their owners stand back and watch the mayhem unfold. Even after another dog rushed in and got at the pit, barely struggling to fight back, the owners continued to look on. The attack went on for quite awhile. The pit bull being jumped on appeared to have given up as she was dragged while on her back.

"Even when the dogs were not wanting to fight and wanted to give up, they were pushing the dogs back into the situation where they had to fight just to survive," says Trooper Marcus Smith with Louisiana State Police. "The worst part of it is the human beings that do this to the animal," says Hilton Cole with animal control.

He adds that animal control agents have not been able to find that dog shown in the video being jumped on. A total of seven adult pits and six puppies were found on the property. By law, they have all been euthanized.

While searching a home in the 5000 block of Sherwood Street, state police say they also discovered several bags of crack cocaine and marijuana. All four suspects have also been charged with possession. Scott faces distribution charges.
