|Geraldine Robertson||failure to provide for 100+ animals||Queensland, Australia||January 9, 2008|
A South-East Queensland dog breeder will face 149 animal cruelty and duty of care charges following a year-long investigation by the RSPCA.
Geraldine Robertson is accused of failing to treat disease and properly provide for more than 100 animals, mostly poodles, under her care.
RSPCA inspectors seized the animals from Robertson's property at Waterford, near Beenleigh, on January 9, 2008.
Since then, the animals have been in the RSPCA's care, with most of them in foster homes.
The RSPCA's chief inspector, Michael Pecic, said the organization was relieved the matter had progressed.
"This has been a protracted and in-depth investigation," he said in a statement.
Robertson will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court.
