The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office's crackdown on animal abuse continues, as investigators made an animal cruelty arrests.

emaciated Pit Bull-mixed puppies were found in his backyard. Several of the pups were corralled in a poorly made pen with no overhead shelter. One tethered by a rusty chain to a stake in the ground, and had no access to food, water or adequate shelter. The ribs, hip bones, spines and shoulder blades were easily seen.
Deputies seized the puppies and transported them to an emergency animal clinic for treatment. Sanchez Acejo was booked into the Maricopa County jail on 18 counts of Animal Cruelty/Cruel Neglect.
